The Immediate Past President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Mr. Tony Oteng-Gyasi, has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the University of Ghana, Legon, for his sterling contributions and service to the industry and education. He had earlier received a number of awards to his credit.

The government should come out with policies to push local cable manufacturers to make foray into the West Africa market, the Managing Director of Tropical Cable and Conductor Ltd, Mr Tony Oteng-Gyasi, has said.

He said although some of the companies, such as Tropical Cable was already exporting to some West African countries, the government needed to back their efforts with a deliberate policy framework that would make Ghana the hub of electrical and telecom cable manufacturing to feed the sub-region.

TCCL donated cables worth of GH¢ 7,000 to Princess Marie Louise Hospital in Accra on 11th September 2010. This was in response to the appeal made by the Chairman of the Board of Governors Rev. Father Andrew Campbell to help to furnish the new surgical block which is being constructed at the hospital.
